Description

The Millers River in Western Massachusetts has the best spring whitewater rafting in the state. This river has also been deemed one of New England’s most popular whitewater rafting rivers. It starts to the west of Charlemont, Massachusetts and ends when the Millers River runs into the Connecticut River at French King Gorge. The entire river is lined with large mossy rocks and picturesque views of a quiet forest starting to come alive for spring.

Millers River is one of the most popular spots for whitewater rafting due to its continuous class III and IV rapids which are hard to match. It is nonstop fun for a 9 mile stretch of awesome green waves and holes to battle through. The two largest rapids include the Funnel and the Tsunami. Keep your eyes peeled for these two bad boys! Not only do you get awesome rafting in on this trip, but you also get some history from your guides since the river runs right behind some historical mill sites.

Millers River is a great river but it is not dam released so the season is fairly short. It starts the beginning of April and runs until mid-May. The river is a great break from the city scene and is only two hours from Boston and three and a half hours from New York City. The minimum age requirement is 12 years old for guided tours on this river. Have an awesome rafting adventure in the sun with Massachusetts’ Millers River.
