Quaint cobbled streets, a concentration of historic sites (and pubs), a fine selection of museums and proximity to major universities (and rural retreats) make Boston the destination of choice for those after culture, class and clam chowder.
THE BERTRAM INN OFFERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEP BACK INTO ANOTHER ERA. BUILT IN 1907/ THE BERTRAM INN WAS ORIGINALLY CONSTRUCTED AS A PRIVATE RESIDENCE FOR A WEALTHY BOSTON MERCHANT. THE PRESENT OWNER/ BRYAN AUSTIN/ HAS NOT ONLY RESTORED THE HOUSE/ BUT ALSO ESTABLISHED A COLLECTION OF PERIOD ANTIQUES SHOWCASED IN EACH ROOM. HE AND HIS WIFE HAVE RESTORED EACH ROOM TO A BALANCE OF ATMOSPHERE AND COMFORT. IN THE MORNING THE LIVING ROOM BECOMES A CHEERFUL BREAKFAST ROOM WHERE A HEARTY CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST IS SERVED IN FRONT OF A CRACKLING FIRE. AFTER A BUSY DAY THIS COZY RETREAT PROVIDES A PLACE WHERE GUESTS CAN RELAX AND TREAT THEMSELVES TO COMPLIMENTARY AFTERNOON TEA. WE ARE LOCATED ON A QUIET STREET IN BROOKLINE JUST 15 MINUTES FROM BOSTON CENTER VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION/ AND A FEW MINUTES WALK FROM A VARIETY OF SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS.
