Description

Housed in a building that one time served as a stop on the Underground Railroad, the Jackson Homestead, the Newton History Museum has as its focus not only Civil War era events (like Abolition) but also area habitation by Massachusetts Indians, early settlement and through changing exhibits explores history topics as diverse as toys and domestic animals. In addition to the museum's permanent collection of artifacts and photographs there is also an extensive selection of historic documents available for interested researchers.
