Built on a private collection of over 2,500 works of art and objects, the Isabella Gardner Museum is noted not only for its fine art holdings but also for the mock Venetian palace in which it's housed. Enjoy a peaceful pause in the courtyard after a grand tour of ground floor galleries ranging in theme from color to context, the Tapestry Room, Dutch art and artifacts, Italian masters and period furnishings on the Second Floor and the Veronese, Titian and Gothic Rooms on the Third Floor.
