Description

Visitors to the Salem Witch Museum will find the focus here the Witch Trials of 1692, with an emphasis on re-telling of the tale in a manner that is both entertaining and educational. In addition to re-examining the infamous happenings of that fateful year, this facility also seeks to explore popular notions of witches over the centuries, and the ways in which common perceptions have changed according to the times, whether it's a witch-hunt of ancient history (pay note to the changing perceptions of women during the period) or a witch-hunt (think McCarthyism and the Red Scare) of modern proportions.
