With more than 12,000 works in their permanent collection, the Williams College Museum of Art lays claim to one of the largest college-owned fine art facilities in the country. From ancient African accouterments and Greek artifacts to modern and contemporary art by leading 20th-century talents, the gallery space here ranges across continents and centuries. Expect to find a strong showing of pieces from the post-1845 period by the likes of Sol LeWitt, Andy Warhol, Kiki Smith and Larry Rivers.
